Grade-by-Grade.
High-grade silica sand (Cochin / Mangalore / quartz based) coated with phenol-formaldehyde resin and catalyst for the shell process. The sand is smooth, free-flowing and dry with good resistance to moisture — used for cores and moulds in shell moulding across grey iron, malleable iron, S.G. iron, steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous foundries.

Shell Sand Advantages
- Extremely free-flowing, producing cores and moulds of greater density and less prone to erosion by metal.
- Hollow cores and moulds are significantly lighter for handling, with the lowest-cost casting production.
- Deep-drawn patterns with tapers of 0.5° to 3° can be produced by the shell process.
- High out-of-box strengths yield precise dimensional tolerances, reducing machining, fettling and finishing costs.
- The shell process eliminates the need for refractory coatings.
- Cores and moulds remain usable indefinitely — unaffected by humidity and resistant to moisture pickup.
- Exceptionally resistant to damage during handling and storing.
- Excellent casting time after time; simple to process, operable with unskilled labour.
- Low capital investment for core and mould-making equipment, with less sand handling and consumption.

Resin Coated Shell Sand is supplied in 50 kg laminated HDPE / PP bags. Printed matter includes Date of Manufacture, Batch No. & Bag No.
